First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested an artificial intelligence tool to help family doctors decide whether a patient with a skin condition really needs to see a skin specialist. About 200 adults with skin problems took part. Doctors took photos of the skin issue and the AI analyzed them. The goal was to see if the tool could reduce unnecessary referrals, lower costs, and shorten waiting lists.
