AI could spot hidden brain aneurysms before they burst
NCT ID NCT06118840
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether an artificial intelligence (AI) model can help doctors find brain aneurysms more accurately on CT scans. Over 6,400 adults in China will have their scans reviewed by radiologists with either a real AI or a sham AI that gives no real help. The goal is to see if the AI improves detection rates and patient outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- AI software (True-AI deep-learning model) for detecting brain aneurysms on CT scans
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this AI could help doctors spot brain aneurysms earlier and more accurately, potentially preventing life-threatening ruptures.
- What could go wrong
- This is a diagnostic accuracy study, not a treatment trial. The AI may not improve real-world outcomes, and results may not apply outside China.
