AI eye exam could match expert doctors in detecting dry AMD
NCT ID NCT07446582
First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study will check if an artificial intelligence (AI) system called DeepMSI can detect signs of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) as accurately as experienced eye doctors. About 1,000 adults over 40 with or without AMD will have their eyes scanned with a special camera. The AI will analyze the images, and its results will be compared to those from retina specialists to see if the AI is just as good at finding the disease.
