AI helps surgeons remove early cancers more precisely

NCT ID NCT07392268

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new AI system (AI-ENDO) that helps doctors perform a type of keyhole surgery called endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for early-stage cancers in the food pipe, stomach, or bowel. The AI works in the background at first, then provides real-time guidance on a separate screen. The goal is to see if the AI makes the surgery safer and more successful. About 60 adults with these early lesions will take part.
