Can smarter AI displays stop doctors from being misled?

NCT ID NCT07457840

Summary

This study aims to find better ways to show artificial intelligence (AI) predictions to doctors to improve their diagnostic accuracy and trust in the technology. One hundred US-based clinicians will review eight simulated patient cases about chest pain or shortness of breath. Researchers will test if presenting the AI's predictions with special updates and confidence ratings helps doctors make more correct diagnoses, even when the AI gives bad advice.
