Summary
This study tested an artificial intelligence (AI) system designed to help eye doctors predict whether a patient's diabetic retinopathy will get worse. Researchers followed over 3,000 diabetic patients for about 2 years, collecting retinal scans and medical data to train and validate the AI tool. The goal was to create a more accurate prediction system than current methods to help doctors make better decisions during patient check-ups.
