AI spots brittle bones in routine scans
NCT ID NCT07162168
Summary
This study is developing an artificial intelligence tool that can analyze existing abdominal CT scans to assess bone health and detect early signs of osteoporosis. Researchers will use scans from 3,000 adults that were originally taken for other medical reasons, applying deep learning to estimate bone age and identify bone weakness. The goal is to create a screening method that doesn't require additional scans or radiation exposure, potentially helping doctors catch osteoporosis earlier.
