AI 'Companion' aims to guide dementia patients through tough care decisions

Summary
This pilot study is testing a new digital tool, called the Dementia Journey Companion, designed to help people with mild to moderate dementia plan for their future care. The tool uses artificial intelligence to guide conversations and help patients document their goals, wishes, and preferences for daily living and medical care. Researchers in six European countries will enroll 150 participants to see if the tool is easy to use, helpful, and acceptable to people living with dementia.
