Your smartphone could soon diagnose a serious lung disease by listening to your cough

NCT ID NCT07457073

Summary

This study is testing a new, simple way to screen for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) using artificial intelligence (AI). Researchers are training an AI model to analyze short cough recordings from smartphones to see if it can accurately identify people who have COPD. The goal is to create an easy, low-cost screening tool that could be used in places where the standard breathing test (spirometry) is not available.
