AI eye on your colon: can smart timing catch more polyps?

NCT ID NCT06063720

Summary

This study tested whether a new AI system could improve colonoscopy quality by better measuring the time spent carefully examining the colon. Researchers compared the AI's 'effective withdrawal time'—which only counts time with a clear, steady view—to the standard manual timing. They analyzed whether this smarter timing was linked to finding more precancerous polyps in 193 adults undergoing routine colonoscopies.
