AI steps into the colon: computer helps spot cancerous growths during your scope
NCT ID NCT06335654
Summary
This study tested an artificial intelligence (AI) system designed to help doctors diagnose colon growths in real-time during a colonoscopy. The AI, called EndoBRAIN, analyzed highly magnified images of the colon lining to predict if a growth was non-cancerous, a benign adenoma, or invasive cancer. The goal was to see if the AI could match the accuracy of a lab pathology report, potentially allowing for immediate treatment decisions and fewer unnecessary biopsies.
