AI and a urine test could revolutionize cervical cancer detection

NCT ID NCT06042543

Summary

This study is testing a new, all-in-one system designed to make cervical cancer screening simpler and more accessible in low-resource countries. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze a urine sample for signs of the virus that causes cervical cancer. For women who test positive, the AI then examines pictures of the cervix to look for precancerous changes and help decide on treatment. The goal is to validate this faster, more affordable approach with 3,200 women in Zimbabwe.
