First seen Apr 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is testing whether artificial intelligence (AI) can combine blood biomarkers and CT scan images to more accurately predict lung cancer risk in heavy smokers. Researchers will analyze data from 650 current or former heavy smokers to see if these tools can better identify who is at high risk and reduce unnecessary follow-ups for benign nodules. The goal is to improve lung cancer screening programs and ultimately save lives.
