AI coach helps seniors get back on their feet after hospital stay
NCT ID NCT07176520
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether an AI-assisted rehabilitation tool can help frail older adults improve their physical function after being discharged from a community hospital. About 220 participants will either use the AI tool at home for 12 weeks or receive standard care like advice and exercise videos. The goal is to see if the AI approach leads to better recovery and which patients benefit most.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AI-assisted rehabilitation device
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, tech-based way to help frail older adults regain physical function at home after a hospital stay.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial with only 220 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The AI tool may be difficult for some to use, and it's not a cure—just a potential aid for recovery.
