Smartphone app aims to spot deadly skin cancer early

NCT ID NCT05843994

Summary

This study is collecting skin photos from people with a rare genetic skin condition called recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) who have had skin cancer. Researchers are using these photos to train an artificial intelligence (AI) model. The goal is to create a smartphone app that can help patients and doctors identify dangerous skin cancers early, especially when access to specialist care is difficult.
