AI-Powered app could help diabetics predict blood sugar and dose insulin smarter
NCT ID NCT07304778
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing a mobile app called glUCModel that uses artificial intelligence to predict glucose levels and help people with type 1 diabetes decide how much insulin to take. About 34 adults aged 18 to 65 will use the app for several weeks while wearing a continuous glucose monitor. The main goal is to see if the app helps them keep their blood sugar in a healthy range more often and reduces dangerous highs and lows.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
glUCModel mobile app (AI-powered decision support system)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could give people with type 1 diabetes a smarter tool to manage their insulin doses and reduce dangerous blood sugar swings.
What could go wrong
This is a small early trial with only 34 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The app is a support tool, not a cure, and its benefits may be modest.
