Walk in their shoes: special suit helps caregivers feel what aging is like
NCT ID NCT07280689
Summary
This study tested if wearing a special suit that simulates the physical limitations of old age could make healthcare workers more empathetic. 82 caregivers from nursing homes were split into two groups: one group wore the suit and had a lesson, while the other group only had the lesson. The results showed that caregivers who wore the suit scored higher on tests measuring their understanding and compassionate care for older adults.
