New inhaled insulin combo could ease diabetes management for teens

Summary

This study tests an inhaled insulin called Afrezza, taken with a long-acting insulin shot, in 100 teens aged 10 to 18 who were just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The goal is to see if this combination helps keep blood sugar in a healthy range and makes treatment easier for teens and their families. Participants will be followed for 13 weeks, with an option to continue for up to 26 weeks.
