Heart scan clues could unmask silent stroke risk

NCT ID NCT07278089

Summary

This study aims to find out if certain heart ultrasound measurements can help doctors identify which patients are most likely to have hidden atrial fibrillation (AF), an irregular heartbeat that increases stroke risk. It will enroll 3,000 patients who have abnormal heart scans but no known AF history. Researchers will compare how often AF is found using scheduled, extended heart monitoring versus standard care to see if this targeted screening approach works better.
