Heart procedure drops the X-Rays: trial tests safer AFib treatment

NCT ID NCT06719921

Summary

This study is comparing two ways to perform a catheter ablation procedure for atrial fibrillation (AFib). One method uses advanced 3D mapping and ultrasound instead of X-ray radiation to guide the doctor. The goal is to see if this new, radiation-free method is just as safe and effective at controlling AFib for a year as the standard X-ray-guided procedure. About 724 adults with AFib who are having their first ablation will be randomly assigned to one of the two procedure types.
