Fake vs. real heart procedure tested in elderly to ease symptoms
NCT ID NCT07403760
Summary
This study is testing if a heart procedure called catheter ablation improves quality of life for people aged 80 and older who have symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF). It will compare the real procedure to a carefully designed fake (sham) procedure to see which group feels better over 6 months. The main goal is to see if the procedure helps patients feel less tired, short of breath, or bothered by palpitations in their daily lives.
