Heart study aims to stop deadly double trouble
NCT ID NCT07380932
Summary
This study is for people who have had a successful, minimally invasive repair for a leaky heart valve (mitral regurgitation) and also have a common irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation (AF). Researchers want to see if performing a catheter ablation procedure to fix the irregular heartbeat is better than standard care at preventing serious heart problems, strokes, or death. They will randomly assign about 956 participants to either get the ablation or continue with their usual medications and monitoring.
