Walking test beats guesswork for heart surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT07440407
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested a new, simpler method to prescribe aerobic exercise for people recovering from heart surgery. Instead of a complex exercise test, researchers used a six-minute walk test to set exercise intensity. 118 patients took part, and the new method was found to be safe, feasible, and just as effective as the traditional approach for improving function and quality of life.
