Exercise response mystery: scientists hunt for muscle signals that boost fitness
NCT ID NCT06141512
First seen May 06, 2026 ยท Last updated May 06, 2026
Summary
This study looked at why some people improve their aerobic fitness (VO2max) with exercise more than others. Researchers measured levels of muscle-signaling proteins called myokines in 21 healthy men before and after a training program. The goal was to see if low responders have smaller increases in these myokines, which might explain the difference in fitness gains.
