Shockwave therapy for heart disease: a new hope for calcified arteries?

Summary

This study tests a device that uses sound waves to break up calcium deposits in heart arteries, making it easier to place stents. About 200 adults with hardened arteries will be treated and followed for 30 days to see if the device works safely. The goal is to improve blood flow and reduce heart complications.
