New stapler tested to make weight loss surgery safer

Summary
This study is testing a new powered surgical stapler called AEON during sleeve gastrectomy, a common weight loss surgery. Researchers will follow 100 patients to see how often serious complications like bleeding or leaks occur after surgery, which might require a blood transfusion or another operation. They will also track hospital stay length and quality of life changes to see if the new device is safe and effective.
