New stapler aims to make stomach surgery safer

This study is testing a new surgical stapler (AEON) used during sleeve gastrectomy, a common weight-loss procedure. The goal is to see if it reduces serious complications like bleeding or leaks after surgery. About 100 adults having their first sleeve gastrectomy will take part.
