Triple-Scan technique aims to sharpen prostate cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT03734757
Summary
This study tested whether combining three types of medical scans (PET, CT, and MRI) into one session could help doctors more accurately plan radiation treatment for men with high-risk prostate cancer. The goal was to see if this combined approach better defines the tumor's exact shape and location, potentially allowing for more precise radiation that targets the cancer while sparing nearby healthy organs. Researchers compared the treatment plans created using this new triple-scan method to the standard method using separate scans.
