New Heart-Zapping procedure aims to tame stubborn irregular heartbeats

NCT ID NCT07446244

Summary

This study is testing a more extensive version of a common heart procedure called catheter ablation for people with persistent, hard-to-treat atrial fibrillation (AFib) and an enlarged heart. Doctors will create a complex pattern of scar tissue inside the heart to block the faulty electrical signals causing the irregular heartbeat. The research aims to see if this more involved approach is safe, feasible, and effective at keeping the heart in a normal rhythm for a longer period.
