Scientists hunt for genetic clues inside cystic kidneys

NCT ID NCT03901521

Summary

This study aims to understand the genetic reasons why Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) varies so much in severity, even within the same family. Researchers will collect and analyze kidney tissue from 100 patients who are already scheduled to have a kidney removed. By studying the specific genetic changes inside the cysts, they hope to learn more about how the disease develops and progresses.
