First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding radiation therapy to the usual radioactive iodine treatment can better prevent thyroid cancer from coming back in the neck area. It includes 124 people with high-risk differentiated thyroid cancer who had surgery but still have some cancer left behind. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either radiation plus radioactive iodine or radioactive iodine alone, and researchers will track how long they stay cancer-free.
