First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looked at fat tissue in 23 men with advanced chronic kidney disease (not on dialysis) compared to healthy men. Researchers took small fat samples during surgery to measure fat cell size and gene activity. The goal was to understand why kidney disease causes metabolic problems like weight loss and insulin resistance. No treatment was given; this was purely an observation study.
