Brain zapping study probes ADHD attention – no cure, just clues

NCT ID NCT04175028

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS could temporarily change how adults with ADHD pay attention and make decisions. 83 people (some with ADHD, some healthy) completed computer tasks while receiving mild electrical currents to the scalp. The goal was to understand brain function, not to treat symptoms, so there were no lasting benefits for participants.
