Could a simple procedure replace hysterectomy for heavy bleeding?

NCT ID NCT07195305

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at two less invasive options—radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and uterine artery embolization (UAE)—for women with heavy bleeding due to adenomyosis who are eligible for hysterectomy. The goal is to see if these treatments can reduce bleeding and pain as well as hysterectomy does, but with fewer risks and faster recovery. About 230 women aged 30-50 will take part, and success will be measured over 2 years.
