New heart drug trial aims to ease strain for patients with thickened heart muscle

NCT ID NCT07367724

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called ademetionine can help people with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM), a condition where the heart muscle thickens and makes it harder to pump blood. About 44 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study drug or a placebo for 16 weeks. Researchers will check if the drug improves patients' ability to exercise, reduces heart failure symptoms, and is safe to use.
