First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study tests whether a tailored addiction care plan—including counseling, medication, and flexible hospital stays—can help people who need a liver transplant avoid returning to heavy drinking. About 64 adults being evaluated for a liver transplant will receive this personalized support. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the number of patients who relapse within one year after their transplant, which can seriously harm their new liver and overall health.
