First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study uses a special camera called adaptive optics to take detailed pictures of the back of the eye in people with outer retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa. The goal is to develop new ways to diagnose and track these diseases. Researchers will measure the density and function of light-sensitive cells in the retina. The study involves 100 adults aged 21 and older who have been diagnosed with an outer retinal condition.
