Brain implant 'Listens' and adapts to help Parkinson's patients walk

NCT ID NCT06791902

Summary

This study is testing a new, 'adaptive' version of deep brain stimulation (DBS) to see if it can safely help with walking and balance problems in people with Parkinson's disease. It involves 10 participants who already have a specific Medtronic Percept DBS implant. The device will try to automatically adjust its stimulation based on the person's brain activity and movement state, like when they start walking or turn.
