Localizing dementia detection: creating a Culturally-Fair memory test

NCT ID NCT07251647

Summary

This study aims to adapt a common memory screening test (the MMSE) to better fit the culture and language of Reunion Island. Researchers will test 400 older adults—both healthy individuals and those with Alzheimer's or vascular cognitive impairment—to see if the adapted version works as well as the standard French version. The goal is to create a more accurate tool for early detection of memory problems in this specific population.
