Summary
This study looks back at medical records of 3,000 adults who had emergency surgery at a Swedish hospital between 2009 and 2019. Researchers want to find out what factors increase the risk of death, complications, or needing another surgery. The goal is to improve care for future patients needing urgent surgical treatment.
