Needles vs pills: military tests acupuncture for sudden back pain
NCT ID NCT04236908
Summary
This study tested whether adding acupuncture to standard pain medication (naproxen) works better for reducing recent low back pain in military members and their families. 276 participants with back pain lasting less than 4 weeks were randomly assigned to receive either just medication, or medication plus different types of acupuncture. The main goal was to see if acupuncture helped people feel less pain and miss fewer work days.
