NCT ID NCT05665426
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at how two traditional Chinese therapies—acupuncture (using thin needles) and moxibustion (burning a herb near the skin)—change the temperature of the lower back in healthy volunteers. 140 adults aged 18-60 with no history of back pain received one of the treatments at specific points on the arm or leg. The goal was to see which method and which point caused the greatest temperature change, helping to understand how these therapies might work for back pain.
