Zap the pain: ancient acupuncture meets modern tech for IVF comfort

NCT ID NCT07212127

Summary

This study is testing whether a special type of electrical skin stimulation, based on wrist-ankle acupuncture theory, can improve pain relief when used alongside standard pain medication during egg retrieval for IVF. Researchers will compare the real stimulation to a fake (sham) stimulation in 60 women to see if it reduces pain and post-procedure nausea. The goal is to find a safe, non-drug method to make this common fertility procedure more comfortable.
