Needle vs. pill: new migraine treatment tested

NCT ID NCT07067853

Summary

This study tested whether injecting a numbing medicine (lidocaine) into a specific acupuncture point in the neck is a safe and effective way to treat migraines. Researchers compared weekly injections to a daily pill (propranolol) in 30 adults with frequent migraines. They measured which treatment better reduced how often migraines happened, how long they lasted, and how severe the pain was over two months.
