NCT ID NCT07183683
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two types of acupuncture—one using mild electrical currents and one using manual massage—for treating bladder dysfunction in women with multiple sclerosis. 150 women aged 18-60 will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments plus routine care. The goal is to see if these approaches can reduce bladder symptoms and improve quality of life.
What this could mean

Active substance
acupuncture (electrical stimulation or acupressure)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a drug-free way to manage bladder symptoms in women with multiple sclerosis.
What could go wrong
This is an early exploratory trial with only 150 participants. The results may not apply to all MS patients, and the benefits could be small or no better than routine care.
