Zap to the rescue: ancient technique tested to prevent dangerous blood pressure drops in modern heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07365345

Summary

This study is testing whether a form of electrical acupuncture can help keep blood pressure stable when patients are put under anesthesia for a heart valve replacement procedure called TAVR. Researchers will compare two different frequencies of stimulation applied to specific acupuncture points before surgery. The main goal is to see if this technique reduces dangerous drops in blood pressure and improves recovery after the operation.
