Zap therapy aims to stop leaks after prostate surgery
NCT ID NCT07245342
Summary
This study is testing whether a form of acupuncture with mild electrical stimulation can help men regain bladder control after prostate removal surgery for cancer. Researchers will compare real electroacupuncture to a fake version in 216 men who recently had surgery. The goal is to see if starting treatment within a week after surgery leads to better and faster recovery of urinary control over 12 months.
