Zap to relax: can ancient acupressure ease modern medical scopes?
NCT ID NCT07106658
Summary
This study tested if a gentle, non-drug method could make an urgent endoscopy procedure easier for patients. Researchers enrolled 180 people with liver disease who needed a scope to check for a serious bleeding issue. They compared standard care to a special acupressure technique using mild electrical pads, to see if it reduced discomfort and helped doctors complete the procedure successfully.
