Acupressure lessons may boost breastfeeding success
NCT ID NCT07410949
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether teaching new mothers how to do acupressure on themselves can help them breastfeed exclusively for longer. 360 mothers will either get standard care or also learn acupressure within 48 hours after giving birth. Researchers will track breastfeeding rates at 6 and 12 months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
acupressure education program
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to help more mothers breastfeed exclusively for longer.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study. Acupressure is self-administered, so results depend on how consistently participants follow the routine at home.
