Summary
This study looked at whether transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (a mild electrical treatment on the skin) can reduce pain and disease flare-ups during menstruation in women with autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. 52 women aged 25-40 with regular periods and severe period pain took part. The study measured pain, walking speed, and inflammation markers before and after treatment.
